Seamstress

Part Time/Full time, Paid Hourly

Start Time: June 2018

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate an industrial sewing machine in creating apparel and other sewn goods
  • Ensure high quality production
  • Cut fabric using patterns

Requirements & Skills:

  • 2 or more years experience in apparel and sewn goods manufacturing
  • Ability to read and work with patterns & tech packs
  • Extensive experience with sewing machines, including straight stitch and serger/overlock machines, industrial experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with different types of fabrics (both knit and woven)
  • Flexibility and willingness to step in where needed, as is necessary with a startup
  • Ability to create patterns & size-grade preferred, but not required
  • Attention to detail
  • Efficiency and excellency

Head Seamstress and Production Manager

Part Time/Full Time, Paid Hourly

Start Time: June 2018

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the production of apparel and sewn goods
  • Make samples & perform time studies
  • Communicate with designers regarding the production of their products and tech pack
  • Operate an industrial sewing machine in creating apparel and other sewn goods
  • Manage and train seamstresses and support the team overall
  • Create & adjust patterns, size grading
  • Create size guides for customers
  • Ensure high quality production
  • Dye fabric and individual pieces

Requirements & Skills:

  • 3 or more years experience in apparel and sewn goods manufacturing
  • Fluent in English
  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read, work with, and create patterns & tech packs
  • Extensive experience with industrial sewing machines, including straight stitch and serger/overlock machines
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with different types of fabrics (both knit and woven)
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Flexibility and willingness to step in where needed, as is necessary with a startup
  • Ability to manage & lead others
  • Attention to detail
  • Desire to made a difference in the lives of others and to use your skills and talents to better the world
